Doug Allen's Guide Part 2: Three Tips

Welcome to the Grammar Minute, where we’re saving the English language sixty seconds at a time! I’m Lauren Smyth, and yesterday, we reviewed a tip from a writing guide by economist Doug Allen. Here are a few more tips from the guide:
Refute means to disprove, while rebut means to argue against
Disinterested means neutral, whereas uninterested means not interested
Chronic means long-term, not “very bad” and is not to be confused with “acute”
Penultimate means next to last, not “best.”
